Today I received the Nikon 28mm f/1.8 prime lens I ordered on eBay earlier this week. Very fast shipment, I wasn’t expecting it until next week.

Of course, the first thing I have to do is make a test photo in my back yard on a dreary New Years Eve.

I think 28mm is a very good wide angle landscape focal length. As for the lens, it’s in like new condition and seems to work flawlessly on the D850. Not bad for half the price of a new copy.

My test shot, the view from the middle of my back yard looking at the house. A little scruffy, we still haven’t cleaned up from the recent hurricane winds, the second time in a couple of weeks. But, the lens works and it frames the house perfectly from my yard.

It is supposed to snow up to 8 inches tonight and tomorrow. When it does, I’ll take more sample photos.

I’m a happy guy.
