Detours

Young Mule Deer Buck / Red Feather Lakes, CO

I’m finally back on task after a brief detour. We opened up our cabin in Red Feather Lakes a couple of weeks ago, but after a few days we discovered a problem with the plumbing that required we drop everything and get resolved. It’s a toss up each year when opening the cabin. Built in the early 1950’s, things are not exactly brand new. But, we are getting closer to modern infrastructure, as we’ve replaced most of the major issues with an aging home over the years. We try to do our best.

The good news, the plumbing problem is resolved. We now have a fully functional bathroom and new shower. Along with a replaced waste line out of the cabin. All that taken care of, we’ll be back in action soon with plenty of summer ahead of us to enjoy. All things considered, we are in good shape.

While June is a nice month in Northern Colorado, the full tilt moose hunting doesn’t really start until early July when the forest roads are opened up. Until then, I can still explore the village and surrounding forest as there is plenty of wildlife. The dogs like it too, as it gives them a chance to play at the local lakes after a long winter of sitting on the back porch here in Littleton. We won’t discuss the mud though.

I did manage to make some nice sky photos the other day. We’ve been getting a lot of rain the past few weeks. Occasionally, a break in the weather occurs and the clouds can be really nice looking. So, I took advantage of a break in the weather and went out to photograph the clouds. Here’s a sample of what was drifting by the other day.

White puffy clouds

Stay tuned, I’m back on task and have navigated the most recent detour. Lets see what happens next.
