Back From The Wilderness

Bull Moose – North Park, Colorado

I just wrapped up a week long stay in Northern Colorado with my wife and friends Ricardo & Sherry Muiño. Lots of fun, lots of moose, lots of rain. It’s good to be home though. The grass was getting tall.

The moose activity in Northern Colorado has been good so far this summer. Since I’ve opened up my cabin, I’ve done nine outings so far, but I need to take a break. I’ll be back to the moose in a couple of weeks.

I’m happy to report that my new Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 4×4 has been excellent in the mountains on those rough dirt roads. Since acquiring the Tacoma, I’ve noticed that there are a lot of people using this vehicle. I never knew it was so popular. It is a bug magnet though. This may be the worst year I’ve seen in a long time for mosquitos in the high country.

As I’ve mentioned in the past, this summer is going to be a little different, in that I won’t be organizing group moose photography tours. My health and general desire to want to deal with the logistics of large groups has caused me to change how I’m doing my photography. I’m only working privately with a few friends this year and will probably never return to organizing larger group outings in the future.

For all of you who have joined me in years past, thanks for the memories. I’ve had a lot of fun over the past 15 years and I’ve made many good friends. I’ve turned a lot of friends on to moose in Northern Colorado and I hope I bump in to a few of you out there in the future.

Well, I have a couple of weeks of downtime so I’ll be plotting new adventures and working on finishing up a few articles. Been ignoring the blog for too long this summer.

And remember.

Moose be good!
