A frozen winter landscape in the forest of Northern Wyoming.
When I was making this photograph another photographer was standing next to me. She asked me if I was going to do the blurry tree trunks thing with this composition. I told her “no, I don’t do much artsy-fartsy stuff”, which is true from my perspective. The blurry tree trunk thing is a little bit cliché in my opinion, though some folks like to make that image I think it’s an overused technique. What I was seeing here was the bright morning light streaks beaming along the pristine snow covered ground in the forest.
This photo was made shortly after sunrise, and I’m looking directly towards the sun. I like the black & white take. Black & white could also be considered “artsy-fartsy”, as it’s an abstract idea as well. Black & white is my way of doing artsy-fartsy.
