Deer have been a staple subject of mine for many years and I’ve accumulated over 21,000 deer photos over time.
Deer are a popular subject in my stock photography portfolio, so I take every opportunity to add to the catalog when the opportunity presents itself.
Today’s deer photo was made at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge at sunrise one morning in early January of 2022 after a snow storm.
There are two main species of deer found in Colorado. Mule Deer and White-tail Deer. I think I prefer the White-tail Deer as a photographic subject, due to the body shape and coloring, but some mule deer bucks make magnificent subjects as well.
This particular photograph has sold fairly well since I made it. I hope to get out more this winter, as that’s the best time to get good deer shots in my opinion.
