Mule Deer Doe on a Snowy Morning
November 27th, 1975. The day my daughter Nicole was born in Louisville, Kentucky. It was Thanksgiving day.
I was in the Navy, stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Center near Chicago and had to fly home in a blizzard. It was an emergency surgery situation and we didn’t know if she was going to make it. As it turns out, she was just fine, but a little premature.
Today, she is enjoying her life living just a few miles from me, raising her family and celebrating her birthday.
Happy Birthday Nicole. We have all been graced by your presence. You are a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and sister. I love you with all my heart.
Today’s photo was made on Nicole’s birthday, this day, in 2015. It’s one of my favorite deer photos. Today, just like then, is a snowy November day here in Colorado.
