A stroll back in time to August of 2017, my last year of commercial moose tours in Northern Colorado.
I didn’t stop photographing moose in 2017, I continued to organize moose outings with my friends each year since then, up until 2022, when the pandemic and the Cameron Peak wildfire more or less fouled things up to the point that it was no longer feasible for me to take people out into the wilderness. It was a pretty good run for about 10 years though. Lots of good stories and good times with many different people.
I’ll be out again in 2025 but it won’t be as involved as past years as I sold my cabin in Red Feather Lakes and simply won’t have the time or access that I once enjoyed. The environment has changed up there too. Human activity has finally disturbed the moose habitat to the point that there just aren’t as many good locations and opportunities to find them.
