Manatees in the Silver River of Florida

A random photo for today.

From my recent trip to Florida. I caught a look at three Manatee in the Silver River from our boat.

Cameras don’t focus well on underwater subjects, but this was the best shot of had of all three of them together.

Pretty rare critter to find unless you know where to find them. When we got on the boat, the Captain said it was unlikely we’d see them as they usually leave the river shallows in early April. But, to our surprise, there they were, just off the port side of the boat about 10 yards away.

I’ve photographed these water mammals before on Florida’s Crystal River, but that was years ago.
