As promised in my year in review blog post, here is a follow-up photo gallery of my best photography action in 2024.
Some of us photographers like to show off our work so I’ll cover a few fronts here, starting with my top selling stock photographs of 2024. These will be across the board, so it’s a cumulative effort with many different stock agencies. I’ll also show you my favorite photos from the past year and my two most popular photos from Reddit (social media. )No fancy swirling galleries with cheesy music in the background. Just the images and a little narrative by me.
My top selling (downloads and monetary receipts) stock photos. Click directly on the images to get a larger image view.
Next we’ll take a look at some of my personal favorite photos I made during the year. These are all from 2024.
Sandhill Cranes during the Spring migration. Photograph made on March 13th, 2024 near Monte Vista, Colorado.
And lastly, I’ll show you my two most popular photographs I posted on Reddit during 2024. As you may know, I quit Facebook in early July and switched my social media presence to Reddit. It was the correct decision too. I found that Reddit gives me a much larger audience without the hassle of having Facebook mess with my life. Both of these photos were viewed over 10,000 times in the first two days of being online. A good benchmark for how accepted my work is by total strangers around the world.
Overall, I think I did pretty well in 2024. It was sort of a down summer as my personal life took precedence over my photography life, but I managed several trips and I made a lot of great photographs this past year. I got to work with my buddies Ricardo Muiño and Jonathan Steele more than once. They are great friends and great photographers.
I would also say, it’s obvious that most of my work this past year was landscape photography. I’m still photographing wildlife but I made a conscious effort to concentrate on the landscapes in 2024. Landscape photography sells 3:1 better than wildlife photography and I just wanted to bulk up the portfolio with more landscape work. I think I was successful too. A lot of people think I’m just “The Moose Guy” but that’s not at all true. My landscape photography has been much more successful over the years and I’ll continue working to be the most published photographer in Colorado. You can bet on that.
