A white colored Great Blue Heron.
When I first spotted this bird, I thought it was a Great Egret. It was only when I began to look closer during editing the image that I noticed it wasn’t a Great Egret. It turns out, there is a sub-species of white colored Great Blue Heron found along the Gulf Coast of Florida. This is one of those birds. Very uncommon and a lucky encounter for me.
This photograph was made from a boat while on the Crystal River along the Gulf Coast of Florida.
The camera used was a Canon EOS 6D with the EF100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens.
