It’s been a few days since I began reorganizing my image files. Lots of progress getting my Lightroom catalogs organized by year. I’ve finished up everything from 2016 to now, but with photographs dating back to 2004, I still have plenty more to do and I’m in no rush. I have also created a couple of special Lightroom catalogs for my ongoing projects.
I did find one corrupt hard drive, which I’ve replaced. It was a Western Digital 4TB hard drive I purchased in 2018. No files were lost. I may later try to recover it.
The current live system has 24 Terabytes of hard drive space, with two 8 TB and two 4 TB drives in the docking bay. The defective drive was being used to store backup files on, but I created another backup to a 3TB drive I had sitting on the shelf. I’m still contemplating on rather or not to buy another 8TB drive, but right now it doesn’t look like I’ll need it. Lots of empty space on all the system drives, maybe 40% full overall at the moment.
I need to take a break. The wife is flying back into town from Indianapolis this afternoon and I’m tired of sitting in front of the computer.
