I continue to nibble away at my collection of abandoned places and ghost town images from Colorado.
Today’s photograph was made in Agate, Colorado on October 21st, 2024. Agate is a small agricultural town on the eastern Colorado plains along Interstate 70. It isn’t really a ghost town though, as there are still people living in this community. Agate has numerous abandoned structures and the resident population is about 350 people. This is one of those sleepy little towns on the plains that is dying, filled with abandoned buildings and with very little maintained commercial infrastructure. This grain silo and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks are the most prominent features in the town.
The photograph was made with a Nikon D850 and the 24-70mm f/2.8 VR II at 52mm, 1/500 sec, f/13, ISO 140.
