Honey bee on bee weed

Honey Bee on the Bee Weed in my Garden. - Sony a6700 with the Sony 70-350 G OSS

I love my honey bees.

I’ve had a strange and rather distracted Summer up through now. Personal health matters, reworking my Internet presence, the trials and tribulations of family and friends have all keep me from doing much in the way of photography since late Spring.

But, I think I’m getting off the detour route and back onto my main road of activity. I have a moose photography trip coming up next week in Walden, Colorado. In a normal year I would have 3 or 4 moose outings under my belt by now, but you don’t always get what you want.

I picked up a new camera in early May, but most of my time with it has been in my own back yard, photographing the resident birds, rabbits and insects. Now that it’s early August, the bee weed in my garden is blooming nicely, and with it comes the honey bees, bumble bees, butterflies and an assortment of other flying insects. I’ve spent quite a bit of idle time learning to use my new camera on these things.

Today’s photo is of a honey bee on the bee weed. The bee weed has some kind of scientific name, but I’m too lazy to look it up. It’s just bee weed to me. It attracts a lot of bees too. So, you get to see one of my magnificent photographs of one of the magnificent honey bees. I love my honey bees.
