Vintage Steam Train

Georgetown Loop NGRR. Engine 9 doing a blow-down.

Always a good way to end the tour.

Today’s train photo is from the Georgetown Loop NGRR, made in July of 2014.

When I did photo tours at the Georgetown Loop, I convinced the train’s Engineer to do what was called a “blow-down” while the train was in the Devil’s Gate station at the end of the day. I would herd the tour group around the locomotive to the front of the train and we would make this one last photo of the day.

Always a good way to end the tour.

I made this photo many times over the years, but this was always my favorite photo of the scene.
