Early in the morning on December 27th, our friend Randy Gross passed away at his home in Indiana. His wife Lisa was by his side when Randy left this world.
Randy and Lisa were our neighbors in Red Feather Lakes for several years. Randy and Lisa moved to Southern Indiana a few years ago and we stayed in touch. I spoke with Randy in October of this year and he told me that his cancer had progressed to the point that he could no longer fight it. He was content to “ride it out.” His ride ended in the early morning hours of December 27th.
Randy was a gentle soul. Lisa considered it a privilege to help Randy leave this world and move into the afterlife and she stayed by his side until the end.
Randy had a full life but cancer took him from us too early. A true Colorado Cowboy at heart, he at was at one time a champion bull rider, and later owned a trucking business. We spent many an hour sitting on the deck of our cabin in Red Feathers telling stories and laughing our asses off at all the strange things we had encountered over the years.
His passing will leave a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him. I will miss him dearly.
