It's a strange mixture of abandoned buildings, crumbling ruins, trash and satellite dishes.

Timpas is located along US highway 350 about 16 miles southwest of La Junta in Otero County in southeastern Colorado. Near the Arkansas River, it’s situated near the historic route of the Santa Fe Trail and later became a stop on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
Some original structures from its boom days still stand, though in a seriously depleted state. There is still evidence of human presence though. It’s a strange mixture of abandoned buildings, crumbling ruins, trash and satellite dishes. It is obvious that in recent years, people have been occupying some of the town but the town is largely a pile of junk. It’s a fairly spooky place.
