The Moose Chronicles – Summer Plans

Colorado Moose Living in the Wild Rocky Mountains – July 24th, 2022

My moose photography season is in full swing now, which is kinda’ why I’ve been mostly silent for the past few weeks. That and simply enjoying time with my family.

I have an upcoming group photography trip planed for next week and I’ve been scouting the moose in Northern Colorado in preparation. I have been contemplating these group trips for some time now and I think this will be the last year I organize large group outings. In the future I think I will limit my groups to just a friend or two. The logistics are just getting a little too much for me to want to deal with. My mindset is changing too. I’m gravitating more to focusing on my own efforts in private. I can get out just about any time I like in the summer but it’s not that easy to rustle up a group of people who can work the same schedules or plan for several days off during the week. Most have real jobs. My job these days is to relax and keep my moose excursions to weekdays when it’s less crowded.

All that said, I probably won’t have a moose post for next week, as I’ll be out with 7 other people on my group trip and I won’t really have the time to sit down and write about it. You can be sure that I will write about it once I’ve finished the outing though.

In the meantime, here’s a moose from my July 24 scouting trip this summer.

Enjoy your summer.
