My next photographic outing will be to photograph the Union Pacific 4014 Big Boy as it moves across southern Kansas and eastern Colorado over Labor Day weekend.
Today’s photo was taken on May 4th, 2019 when this locomotive and the UP 844 made a trip across the Colorado/Wyoming border into Laramie, WY while on the maiden run of the 4014 after a major rebuild by Union Pacific.
I’ve always been into trains. As a child I had a very large HO gauge model railroad setup in my basement. It was quite elaborate. My love affair with railroads has continued as I’ve grown older and I still make train photography trips to photograph the heritage railroads.
When I’ve finished up the the Big Boy, I hope to photograph the heritage 1880 Train that runs near Custer, South Dakota. We’ll see what the pandemic has to say about that though.
I’ll report back with photos.
