Next Up – Autumn Photography

Autumn scenery in Colorado.
Autumn on Kebler Pass Colorado – 2013

I haven’t made a trip for Autumn photography since 2019. 2020 was skipped due to the COVID pandemic. I opted out of 2021 due to wildfire smoke wafting in from the West Coast over most of Colorado. Smoke doesn’t make for good landscape photographs. So far this year, there hasn’t been much in the way of smoke over the state. I can only hope that things don’t take a turn for the worse before the end of September.

In the past I’ve tended to work either the San Juan Mountains in SW Colorado or Crested Butte in the Central Rockies of Colorado. Both are excellent locations for fall color, but I need to broaden my horizons. The landscape photos I’ve taken in the past are great sellers, but I need some fresh meat for the portfolio.

Stay tuned as I gear up for this year’s Autumn adventure. I’m not spilling the beans yet on where I intend to work, but it’s an area of Colorado where I haven’t done much work in the past, so it will also be about exploration.
